ABOUT MY WORK

 

My work usually begins with an object or material that catches my eye or my imagination. I use found objects ranging from family heirlooms to the most humble detritus of everyday life. I'm attracted to the natural world and to industrial materials, and my work often expresses the tensions between the two. My work is about connection, and I use juxtaposition, humor and enigma to explore relationships, origins and destinies. References to bookbinding and incorporation of language or markings whose meanings we can't understand create vehicles for expression of the ineffable nature of remembrance, loss and reconciliation.
